Amazon to set up Logistic Centres in Australia
Sydney Morning Herald reports that Amazon is setting up new logistic centres in Australia, which means that finally, we have some tangible evidence that Amazon, the global ecommerce company, is coming to Australia.
Amazon has been in Australia already, and their present portal www.amazon.com.au allows you to buy Kindle e-books online, the real beast is the ecommerce platform.
Setting up warehouses means that they are ready to start setting up the groundwork for their key seller service Fullfillment by Amazon (FBA). Check out the video below to get awed by the logistics that has made Amazon the global mega-retailer that it is.
ROO estimates, based on global practices, that they will likely start on boarding vendors in the coming months, and then have their launch by December 2017 or early 2018.
